How could I write for Smaily?

At Smaily, we believe our audience deserves the best content to help them excel in email marketing and automation. Our main goal is to promote a culture of high-quality email marketing through our platform, ensuring that people eagerly anticipate all newsletters and campaigns in their inboxes.

Thus, we welcome guest articles from industry experts who can share their valuable experiences and insights. If you fit this description, we’d love to hear your ideas for articles that will engage and educate our readers.

Who we’re looking for

We publish articles by individuals with expertise in email marketing, automation, and digital marketing strategies. We are looking for writers who are marketers, developers, and technical writers with experiences that can benefit our audience.

What makes a great Smaily article?

Our primary goal is to deliver exceptional content that helps our readers improve their email marketing and automation strategies. Your article must contain actionable learning points and insights our audience can use.

We’re open to any type of content that meets this criterion, but successful pitches tend to fall into the following categories:

  • Email marketing guides: Share your expertise on various aspects of email marketing, such as crafting effective email campaigns, improving deliverability, or analyzing campaign performance.
  • Email marketing case studies: Share your experiences with email marketing. Discuss how you implemented a specific strategy, the results achieved, and the lessons learned.
  • Smaily feature spotlights: Highlight real examples of how you have used Smaily to achieve business results. Describe how you utilized features such as automation workflows, segmentation, or personalization to help readers achieve similar outcomes.
  • Integration use cases: Smaily integrates with many other software tools. Write about how you integrated Smaily into your marketing stack to enhance efficiency and performance.

NB! We are particularly interested in detailed articles on topics related to email marketing that have not yet been published on the Smaily blog.

10,000 monthly visitors.
  • We’ll promote your article to our mailing list with thousands of subscribers.

Guest posting guidelines

  • Guest post submissions must be relevant to our audience and align with the topic of email marketing.
  • All guest posts must be original content that has not been published elsewhere, including on your own website or blog. We do not accept duplicate or repurposed content.
  • Your content should provide unique perspectives or advice that adds value and up-to-date insights to our readers.
  • The content of the blog post must be catchy and neutral. Avoid advertisement-sounding and obviously sponsored text styles.
  • Guest posts should be between 1,000 and 2,500 words in length. Longer articles may be considered on a case-by-case basis if the topic warrants in-depth exploration.
  • Your post should be well-organized and formatted for easy readability. Use headings, subheadings, bullet points, and numbered lists where appropriate.
  • While it isn’t mandatory, you may include a brief author bio (approximately 40-90 words) with your photo and a link to your website or social media profile.
  • We encourage you to use relevant, high-quality images or multimedia elements to support and enhance the content of the article.
  • While we greatly appreciate images that support the information in the article through examples, we usually prefer to include images for only illustrative purposes in the article ourselves. This includes the header picture of the article.
  • Images should be high-resolution (minimum 72 dpi) and submitted in JPEG, PNG, or GIF format.
  • Please ensure you have permission to use the images or multimedia. Including proper image source links is mandatory for each image.
  • We allow do-follow backlinks within the body of your guest post. The links must be relevant to the content and provide value to our readers. We reserve the right to remove any links we deem inappropriate or promotional. We will inform you about this in advance so that you can exchange the link for a suitable variant.
  • Links that only lead to a homepage, a product page, or a pricing page (for example: www.smaily.com or www.smaily.com/features/automation) are not permitted. Instead of a product page of this kind, a relevant and on-topic blog article from the same webpage can be linked, which adds value to the readers.
  • We do not accept guest posts that are solely promotional or self-serving. Links to gambling, gaming, cryptocurrency, dating sites, and Smaily’s competitors are prohibited.
  • Although the maximum number of external links depends on the length of the article and the necessity and educational nature of the links, there should be at most 5-6 links added. You should also include internal links to relevant Smaily blog posts within the article, using appropriate anchors.
  • Adding links to the introduction and summary of the article is not recommended.
  • Submit your guest post proposal (preferred option) or completed article (the topic must match our expectations) via an editable Google Docs file, so our editorial team can review it and add comments, suggestions, or changes if necessary.
  • Our editorial team will review your submission and may request revisions or suggest edits before publishing. We reserve the right to make any necessary edits to ensure the content aligns with our guidelines and standards.
  • We will notify you once your guest post has been approved and provide an estimated publication date.
  • We encourage guest authors to share their published articles on their own websites and social media channels to increase visibility and engagement.
  • We will also promote your guest post on our own social media channels and newsletters to maximize exposure.

By adhering to these guidelines, you’ll ensure your guest post adds value to the Smaily Blog and our readers while showcasing your expertise in the digital marketing space.
