How to verify your domain?
Before you can send your first email, the domain of the sender’s email address has to be verified. This has to be done to trigger posts, automations and API queries.
- Click on the account name on the right and choose “Preferences” from the menu.
- Move to the “Domains” tab and click on “Verify Domain”.
- In the new window, insert an email address you have access to and which includes the domain of the sender’s email address and click “Send verification email”.
- You’ll receive a confirmation letter on the previously inserted email address.
- Click “verify domain” in the confirmation email or copy the link from the confirmation to your web browser’s address bar.
- Send your emails on the way!
- Check your verified domains and domains waiting for verification in your account preferences under the “Domains” tab.
Note! Sender’s address will be rewritten if you are not using your own domain, if no valid Smaily DKIM configuration is found and DMARC is present with either none
, quarantine
or reject
enforcement policy.
If you are using Gmail, Yahoo (or other email service) email as a sender’s address, Smaily will change the sender’s address from youremail@gmail.com
to youremail=gmail.com@smailydomain.tld
If you are using your own domain, but domain is missing Smaily’s DKIM records and DMARC record is added, then Smaily will change the sender’s address from youremail@yourdomain.com
to youremail=yourdomain.com@smailydomain.tld
This change in sender’s address will help improve deliverability and avoid spam folders. Read more on SPF, DKIM and DMARC records here.
